Obviously you can just look at a list of packing lists and packing tips for backpacking, but for some reason, these lists seem a little more helpful when you have a visual or infographic attached. I’ve found so many great ideas on Pinterest that I just keep saving, so I figured now might be a good time to share some with you guys so you can save what you might find helpful.
*For those of you wondering, the backpack in the top of this article is the Osprey Farpoint 55 which is the backpack I’m in love with and use whenever I’m traveling. Though I’m still interested in trying out the Errant Pack from Boundary Supply.
Hopefully, I’m sharing all of the original creators of these images. Please let me know if you see anything attributed to the wrong website. And feel free to send over your own for me to share!
Organizing Your Backpack

This diagram is super helpful for figuring out how to properly organize the stuff in your pack. This sort of structure helps you distribute the weight in a way that doesn’t put too much stress on your back while lugging it around town or through the woods. It also emphasizes making sure you have essential items within your grasp easily such as water bottles, sunscreen, and rain gear.
How to Pack a Backpacking Pack

This infographic is similar to the last diagram, but it is a little more detailed with bullet points laying out more of what you should pack in different regions of your bag. I like how they refer to the top of the bag as the “brain” of the backpack.
Carry On Backpack List

This carryon list has all the necessities to make sure you are having as comfortable and relaxing flight as possible. I suggest printing this one out and leaving it folded up in your bag even if you don’t have any trips coming up. It’ll be a good reminder to add some things you might forget to pack the next flight.
Packing Lists
Make sure you don’t forget to bring anything important on your trips abroad! God forbid you land in a new country and realize you forgot to pack underwear or medicine for an inopportune headache. Here are some packing lists I found that are great for specific regions.
4 Week Trip to Southeast Asia

I’m in the middle of planning a trip to Thailand, since I had to bail on my Hong Kong travel plan, and I’m finding this to be an incredibly helpful list. I’m more of an amateur photographer, if that, so the huge lens and extra camera equipment space would be left open for bringing stuff home. Also, never would have thought to pack mosquito coils!
Backpacking Europe Packing List

I like these types of packing lists since you can print them out and just check off what you need to pack while you’re loading up your bag. I find it a good idea to keep a checklist like this in your bag while you are traveling so that you can make sure you didn’t leave anything behind in your hostel or Airbnb when you’re moving from one city to the next.
